What a lovely day it was to see all the tamariki give cross country a go,
aim high and run to the best of their ability!! Te Kākano had a great day
cheering our friends on and trying to run fast like the wind.
Kei runga noa atu!!

Today we made a Wind Vaine - (Tohutohu hau)
We learned new kupu - Raki, Tonga, Rāwhiti me Uru and the tohu N, S, E and W.
What do Tohutohu hau do? Tohutohu hau show us which way the wind is blowing.
How can knowing which way the wind blows be helpful?
Knowing which way the wind is blowing can help us know what the weather may do,
this is also useful when fishing, growing crops and hunting.
We went out to test our Tohutohu Hau and guess what?
There was no wind!!
Nevermind we will try them another day.
